Workout Tips for Moms

smileLife Before Kids

Before I had kids I had my time super organized. I woke up at the same time each day. I went to bed at the same time each day. I got my workout in. I went to school or work. My life was predictable. Very predictable actually.

Life After Kids

Then one day I got married. My life continued to be predictable until the day I had a baby girl. Then my life completely changed! For the better, of course!

All of a sudden my time was NOT organized anymore. Actually it got even more unorganized as I went along! Then I had another baby girl and it got even worse! If you have kids, you’ll know what I mean. 🙂

10 Workout Tips for Moms

So now I have two little girls three and under. My time is getting more organized now, but it took a while to get organized.

baby After I had my second baby I was on a mission to get my workouts in each day. The only problem was that they were at a different time each day.

So now I’m trying to do them consistently at the same time each day. Here are a few tips I’ve used to get my workouts in consistently!

1- Plan a time to workout each day that you won’t miss when your kids are asleep or at school. This will help you get an uninterrupted workout.

2- Put your workout in PEN in your schedule each day.

3- Treat your workout like an important meeting that you can’t miss.

4- Workout early before your kids wake up.

5- Workout early in the morning or during nap time with a workout DVD in your home.

6- Find a workout buddy to workout with at least two times a week to keep you on track. You can push your kids in the stroller and go for a walk if you need to bring your kids.

7- Sign up for a race, and start training for it. This will give you something to look forward to. You can mark off the days until the race with your kids by putting stickers on the calendar.

8- Get a jogging stroller! I recommend Phil & Teds or a BOB.

9- Go to the park and run around and play with your kids! Your kids will love it, and you’ll get some exercise too!

10- Don’t give up! Keep going! Consistency pays off.
