Happy Friday! It’s the weekend! Every weekend we post a new challenge!
This WEEKEND’s CHALLENGE is to run! You can do it! Go outside or on the treadmill. You can run for one min. or 2 hours. The challenge is to go for a run even if you aren’t a runner!
I became a runner in high school. I was a competitive gymnast growing up. When I injured my back and couldn’t train anymore, I wanted to do something that challenged me. I decided to start running.
I had a hard time running a mile without stopping. I was the one who complained when we had to run the mile in school!
I wanted a real challenge so I made a goal to run a marathon. I bought a book and began training. I signed up for a marathon in Utah for several years in a row, but always backed out because I was scared to do it.
Finally in 2002, I ran my first and only full marathon! It was awesome! I think I’ll stick with half marathons going forward, but the marathon was an awesome accomplishment!
