The Ultimate Reset
The Ultimate Reset is all we’ve been thinking about lately! We’ve been so busy cooking that we haven’t had much time to blog about it!
I have really enjoyed it. It has been difficult for Patrick though. He has eaten a lot healthier this past year, but not this healthy! He’s been a good sport about it. I’m glad we’ve been able to do it together.
I love eating this healthy. I could totally eat like this all the time if I was single! I have learned so much about preparing healthy foods. I’ve tried foods that I would have never tried before. I’ve slept better than I have in years. It’s been a great experience for me.
We spent a lot of time shopping for the foods in the Ultimate Reset! We went to a health food store, a farmer’s market, Trader Joe’s, Costco, and a local grocery store. There were a lot of ingredients I’d never heard of. So we spent a lot of time looking for things. Our two little girls were a big help!
The Ultimate Reset Week 1
I thought week 1 of the Ultimate Reset was the most challenging. It took time to get used to taking the supplements, preparing the meals, making sure we had all of the ingredients, etc. We felt really tired, especially the first few days during the Ultimate Reset.
Here are the meals we ate each day.
Day #1 foods were really good. I thought everything was pretty normal. The bread was hard to eat dry, but everything else was really flavorful. It was good eating eggs and fish. We thought, “This isn’t bad. We can do this!”
I felt really tired on Day #1 especially. It was my hardest day.
Day #2 got easier, but I still felt tired. I loved the food! Take a look! We got to eat chicken!!
Day #3 was good. We weren’t as tired. I had trouble making the lentil soup! It took me forever! I didn’t realize that lentils expanded. I had never made them in my life. Anyways, I didn’t make it in time for lunch. So I had it for dinner. After all the hard work, it wasn’t even that great…
Day #3 foods weren’t my favorite. I liked the salad and the eggs, but the other stuff was just so so. I was really scared to try tempeh, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
We got to eat fruit for breakfast on Day #4! It tasted so good. I love fresh fruit! We had the lentil soup and Nori Rolls again. Not my favorite, but not terrible. I was proud of myself for trying everything even though I normally wouldn’t eat it!
Day #5 was a Friday. It was a long week! The first week seemed to take forever. It was a lot of adjusting and getting used to everything. We felt good, but it was a long week. We were happy to get to the end of the week! The foods were good on Day #5. I liked everything. I really liked the hummus. I haven’t had that in a long time. It was really good.
On Day #6 we eat baked tempeh for breakfast. I thought it was weird we ate it for breakfast, but I really liked this recipe. The tempeh was really good made this way. I loved the roots for dinner! They were really good. Patrick even liked them! That was a plus! I also LOVED the zucchini-cashew soup! It was really good.
We were so happy to make it to Day #7!! What a week! I felt really emotional on Day #7 for some reason. They say you are letting go of your emotions as well as the toxins in your body. I’ve had a lot of emotions building up inside for the past few months since we moved to another state. So that was probably why. I spent two hours on my own this day. I went for a walk and spent time at a park. It was nice to sit outside and think about where I had been and where I wanted to go. I did a lot of reflecting on Day #7.
Overall, Week #1 of the Ultimate Reset went really well. I loved most all the foods. I felt better and better as the week went on. I lost two pounds in the first week. I wasn’t really trying to lose weight so it was a bonus.
I also had Tropical Shakeology everyday as my snack during the first week of the Ultimate Reset. It’s vegan so it was ok. I love Tropical Shakeology! I made it with organic rice milk and frozen strawberries the first week. It was really good.
