Mom of Three used T25 to Improve her Running Time and Lose 20 Lbs.

I love sharing transformation stories from our team! Today I wanted to highlight, Vanda. She has an incredible story. Yes, she lost weight, but it’s so much more than that. She has more energy, she’s healthier, her running time improved, and she feels overall better. She’s also paying it forward helping other people as a coach on our team! T25 Transformation

Vanda’s Story
(in her own words)

As a child, I never worried about food, but I loved it. I was not unhealthy, although I loved chocolate and greasy food. At age 19, a stranger came up to me and said that I was pretty cute if I could only lose some weight. Wow! This was the first time I realized that my weight could be linked to approval of people. It started a very unhealthy relationship with food from there on. Incredible, how destructive words can be!

Before becoming pregnant with our first child, I was at 110 lbs and proud of it. Once pregnant, I realized that I am responsible for the life of another human being and that my food needs to sustain me and nourish the baby, too. After baby, I kept active and eating healthier.

With baby #2, I was at 140 lbs and pretty comfortable in my own skin-I began to forget the nasty remark from my teen years that got me on a path of destruction. After baby #2, I lingered at 150 lbs. A desk job didn’t help, and neither did the fast food on the go.

With baby #3, I weighed 185 lbs and had gestational diabetes. I knew something had to change. After this last pregnancy, there was a walking challenge at work and I took it. I walked faithfully 30-45 minutes over my lunch break, but was stuck at 165 lbs. I decided to speed things up, so I started running and signed up for my first 5K in 2008. I was then hooked on running and ran several races (10Ks and even a marathon in 2011). I was in love with running!

Something had to Change

I realized I had to fuel differently in order to sustain my energy for running, especially for long runs. But, I would still use running as an excuse to eat more food (“carb-loading”, right?). While I kept running about 35 miles per week, my weight was stuck and often, I had little energy. I started to cross-train to tone up (weights and spinning), and I also got diagnosed with hypothyroidism, for which I now take medication. However, what made a difference in getting off the runner’s plateau was Beachbody.

I began with FOCUS T25 and Shakeology and now, I am more flexible, a better and faster runner and I have energy. I also lost 20 lbs. since I started T25! I fuel my body better now and don’t end up on carb-crash cycles anymore! My goal is to run the NYC Marathon before I turn 40 and with Beachbody, I feel like I can do anything when it comes to pushing my body and getting results!
