Little changes make BIG results! I say this all the time because it’s SO true! Little changes are a lot easier than big ones!
I completely understand how hard it is at first when you look forward, and it seems like you have so far to go! Believe me!! I started my weight loss journey at the end of last September at 178 pounds. Six weeks earlier on the day I had my baby at the beginning of August 2011, I weighed 196! Now I’m 132!!!
I would have never made it this far if I didn’t take little steps. One step in front of the other. Every. Single. Day.
HOW TO START
During my pregnancy, I CRAVED sugar, white bread, doughnuts, cupcakes, cake, ice cream… You get the idea. NOT GOOD! I was the biggest during the summer months so I retained water, which was also NOT GOOD! I couldn’t even tell I had ankles at one point!
So at first, I started by only having one treat a day. This treat was a piece of cheese cake, a bowl of ice cream, etc. I could only have one though. This was hard, believe me! But, I did it! Then, I had one treat every two days. I continued to take away the treats. Now I only have one or two a week if any at all! This is a HUGE accomplishment for me.
Next, I started exercising as soon as the doctor gave me the OK. I had a c-section so I had to wait until I was cleared. This was REALLY hard at first, and didn’t feel like doing it, but I did a few minutes everyday until I gradually got stronger and was able to do more! Then one day, I actually did the whole workout without dying!
I started with Beachbody’s Insanity workout. This probably wasn’t the best thing to start with since it’s so intense, but I did it! I did the first month twice and then I did the second month. My pushups got better, and I felt so much better!
I also started eating five small meals a day and followed Beachbody’s meal planners to get ideas.
Some days I felt like quitting. It was just me at first pushing myself along this journey until I became a Beachbody Coach and was able to connect with an awesome support group!
To be honest, I still needed a lot of support when I signed up as a coach. It motivated me even more to do better because I had to be accountable to people now. People asked me how my workouts were going, and I had to be sure I did them that day!
Then we started tracking our food, and I had to be a good example and eat well! It really helped me to forget about myself and help others get healthy and fit! In the process I was able to get into amazing shape! 🙂
So the moral of the story is take little steps. Don’t get overwhelmed by doing everything perfect. Just keep going. Keep trying. That’s the most important thing!
