Focus on the Positive

This sounds so simple, right?

Focus on the positive. I can do that!

Positive

Then something bad happens. Someone says something mean. Someone doesn’t return your phone call or message. Someone returns something you are selling. You get a flat tire. Your dinner gets burned. Life happens!

It gets harder to be positive when those things happen, and it’s a LOT easier to start complaining about it. I know I have a hard time with this!

I’ve been learning a lot about this lately. I’ve learned that wherever your focus is, it grows!

So if we focus on the bad things that are happening, MORE bad things happen. Instead, if we focus on the GOOD things that happen to us, MORE good things happen.

Now, I’m not saying that we should just cover everything up and act like life is perfect, because it isn’t. I’m saying that we should focus forward and focus on the good so that MORE good will happen. Then we will be happier too!

In one of the books I’m listening to, it said that complaining is bad for our health and our wealth. That really stood out to me! I didn’t realize how much complaining can affect us!

So I’ve decided to notice when I’m complaining, and work on focusing on the good instead of what isn’t going good. This is NOT an easy process! I’m definitely going to have to try hard, but when there is a will, there is a way so I’m going to work on it everyday.
