Don’t Give Up – Weigh In Day

Today is Weigh In Day! Every Monday is Weigh In Day! We take time to weigh ourselves, take our measurements and body fat and keep track of our progress.

Some Weigh In Days are good, and some aren’t so good… The most important thing is to keep going!

Today wasn’t so good for me!! I was doing great all week until Saturday. I weighed myself on Saturday because I was feeling extra skinny for some reason. It turned out that I was down to 131, which is the LOWEST I’ve been in years!! The last time I was that low was in the mid 1990’s. I don’t even remember seeing that number on the scale.

Last year at this time I weighed about 196. It was a few days before I had my baby. I wasn’t feeling good at all this time last year! I can’t believe how far I’ve come!


Anyways I was feeling great last Saturday, and I ate great until that night… Here comes the bad part. Yes, I know we are the examples, and we are supposed to eat perfectly all the time… But the truth is we aren’t perfect!! The other truth is we have junk food once in a while! I know! I bet you can’t believe that! We are trying, but we aren’t perfect! I think we’d go crazy if we had to be perfect all of the time! We also wouldn’t be able to do this!

So Patrick and I went out to eat… Here comes the part about the bad food! I got a cheeseburger, fries AND a shake! I felt so blah afterwards! It was not good! Then I ate a whole bag of gummy candy! My favorite… Blah…

We went to eat at the same place last year at this time. It was weird being there again. I honestly feel like a whole new person. We went there on our way home from the hospital. I thought our baby was coming that day, but she wasn’t so I got sent home. If that’s ever happened to you, you’ll understand how NOT FUN that is!!

Patrick took me to eat a cheeseburger, fries and a shake to feel better! I felt awful! I used to turn to food all the time when I was pregnant to feel better!! NOT GOOD! I was so ready to have my baby! I was about 196 pounds (I’m 5’4″), it was about 95 degrees outside, I was swollen… You get the idea. NOT FUN!


Flash forward to today.

So Weigh In Day came today, and I was up to 132.5. I gained 1.5 lbs. since Saturday!! Not good, but still my lowest weight since high school so I’m not complaining. I was about 135 in high school.


The moral of the story is that you CAN’T give up if you have a bad day, or week, month or year! You HAVE to keep going! Don’t look back, just look forward! You can do it! It’s pays off in the end! I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve slipped up along the way, but I’ve gotten right back up and kept going!
