Mom of Two Never Gives Up

Hi, my name is Dale.  I am a 42 and I live in Florida.

I was always a skinny gawky child.  BUT, as we are all aware, once we have children things change.  Since having two children I have been yo-yo’ing with my weight.  I’d lose weight and then I’d gain it.  Then I’d lose and I’d gain, not a fun cycle.

One morning as I was getting ready for work I put on a pair of pants that I had been wearing for a while. They were snug…..really snug!  I was not only embarrassed, but devastated.  No one wants to have that happen to them, that dreaded muffin top or the deep indentations from your pant seams.  So, as I pulled them off and put on another pair of pants I decided that I needed to take action.

A while back I had ordered a program called Power 90 and when it came in I tried it…I was sore from doing the workouts and put that program on the shelf…not to touch it again.  Foolish I know….no one wants to take the hard road to success.  Everyone wants the easy road.

Long story short….I opened up that package again and vowed to complete it.  Shannon was my saving grace. She was new to coaching, but knew the importance of support and motivation.  With her help and guidance I started drinking Shakeology and started watching my hard work and determination drop those pounds.  Since completing Power 90 (lost 23 lbs) I have completed programs such as; Turbo Jam (lost 8 lbs and several inches), Les Mills Pump (lost inches and gained muscle), the Ultimate Reset (lost 16 pounds), then Les Mills Combat (gained definition and strength) now I am on to the 21 Day Fix and cannot wait to see the results.

Never Give up!

My advice to you…..NEVER give up.  It is going to be hard, it is going to hurt.  It won’t be easy to eat correctly and not give in to temptation, but NEVER GIVE UP.  I started my journey at 248 lbs, the lowest I have gone is 191 lbs. I am currently sitting at 201 lbs.  My ultimate goal is 165 lbs.  Do I still have a ways to go? YES!!  Will I give up? NO!!

New Year’s Resolution

I made a goal this past New Years.  My goal is to do all 5 races in Walt Disney World for a medal….not a medallion.  Since making that goal I have completed my first 10K (January 11), then I just completed my second 10K (February 22) and my first ½ marathon (February 23).  Talk about pushing myself.  Not only was I doing my first half, but I preceded it with a 10K.  Yup, I finished my first ½ in 3 hours and 9 minutes.  Not bad for a newbie.  I am already registered for the Tower of Terror 10 miler in October (with my 11 year old son) and signed up for the Wine & Dine ½ marathon in November.  I am hoping to complete my five by buying someone’s bib for the Expedition Everest 5K in May (it sold out before I could afford to register).

We can do anything we put our minds to.  NEVER GIVE UP!!  Make goals and conquer them.  You can do it.  I know you can.
