Annie Inspires Others who Suffer From Lyme’s Disease to Live a Healthy Lifestyle

I’m excited to congratulate, Annie Golladay. She is our Fit Coach and Leader of the week. She has faced so many obstacles with her health, but she hasn’t let that stop her from living a healthy lifestyle.

Annie was diagnosed with Lyme’s Disease at a young age. It was very difficult, and she still continues to get treatment. She wanted to pay it forward and help others who have Lyme disease, chronic illness, or anything else that is holding them back from living the life that they want.

She loves outdoor recreation such as hiking , paddle boarding and snowboarding. She also love gymnastics, dance, reading, fitness, running and family time. She lives in Utah with her husband. She also opened a gym in Utah with her husband this past year.

This is her story in her own words:

The picture on the left is right before I got married June 2014 and very healthy, middle picture is right before Beachbody at least 15-20 pounds heavier and feeling very awful/sluggish, right side of picture is after Beachbody around July 2016 and feeling great! My name is Annie Golladay and am married to a wonderful husband, Kenny. We both would love to start a family soon!

I have Chronic Lyme Disease and have had this since late 2007. I went through treatments on and off for this disease for many years and have since recovered from it. It’s so important for me to take good care of myself and to maintain a healthy lifestyle in order to stay well and keep the disease inactive since it can easily come back.

After I got married in June 2014, my husband and I moved several times from Arizona to Utah. We were busy in our new lives together and also busy with our new jobs and back in school. I was doing my schooling online and also training for a new online job. I was doing everything on my laptop, so I was spending so many hours during the day in front of my laptop. I put on 15 pounds rather quickly after I got married from not having a good routine and plan in place to stay in shape and take good care of myself. I was feeling fatigued, not myself, and started having some of my old symptoms come back. I was not happy with myself and knew I could not keep going in this direction especially if I want to start a family. When I don’t feel healthy, it makes me feel miserable emotionally/mentally and physically. I began searching many different gyms to join and tried different diets, but couldn’t really find a good diet that I could stick to. I enjoyed some gyms, but some of them were too expensive to keep up or I didn’t want to do the same kind of workout every day.

I was feeling depressed and upset with myself that I allowed myself to fall to this point since it is so hard to get back on track. I began looking for something that would help me become more motivated to help me accountable each day. I wanted to start blogging about my journey to help me stay on track so that I can reach my goals. Getting healthy and in shape means that I can live a much fuller life! When I feel better, it actually helps me to serve other people more and makes me become a better person, wife, future mom, etc. I would love to have children and start a family, but I have to have healthy, consistent habits already to have a healthy baby. I’ve wanted to start this for a long time, but before I got around to this, my sister-in-law, Shannon, invited my husband and me to come to a Beachbody retreat! After hearing from so many inspirational coaches and their stories, I was so excited and pumped to try out the workouts and get into the coaching opportunity. I know this opportunity was an answer to my prayers and came into my life at just the right time since I was ready to listen. I am forever grateful for Shannon’s invitation to come to the retreat that weekend and my husband for helping me to go.

Another great surprise was finally trying the Shakeology. It took me 2 days of drinking it to notice the enormous difference that I felt in my energy level. This is such a big deal to me and makes such a difference in my life! I use to feel so tired and fatigued every afternoon every single day. It was a struggle to get off the couch or a chair sometimes. I would mentally have to force myself to move and to keep going. When I started drinking Shakeology, the fatigue disappeared! I feel so much better with the shake that I never go a day without it. It has also helped me out with my diet soda addiction and other cravings. I have been addicted to diet soda for over 15 years and never thought that I could ever get over it. It is amazing how much better I feel from the Shakeology alone. I have already lost 8 pounds since drinking it too!

I am so grateful for this awesome opportunity from Beachbody and for the confidence that I now have to open up more about my own struggles. I have always wanted to help others who have Lyme disease, chronic illness, or anything else that is holding you back from living the life that you want. The coaching opportunity with Beachbody has been perfect for this in helping me to connect to all types of people. I love the support and accountability that comes from being a part of the Beachbody team. I am so excited for the future and to be able to have the tools and resources I need to have a healthy pregnancy and overall better lifestyle.
