Cathy Lost 19.5 Pounds and 24.5 Inches Using Turbo Fire!

We’d like to congratulate Cathy for losing 19.5 pounds and 24.5 inches using Turbo Fire!! She’s been very motivating to watch throughout her journey. Congratulations!

CATHY’S STORY

Cathy has always been athletic. She was very involved in sports when she went to school. She said she thought she was in shape back then. The truth was she had trouble running a quarter mile because she got shin splints every time she tried to run. She enjoyed the sport, but didn’t like the pain.

She grew up and got a job in Law Enforcement. She was the slowest person in her basic training academy class. She said it was a little embarrassing, but she finished and graduated. A year or two later she joined a gym to get into shape. She even paid extra for a personal trainer, and her trainer changed her life. She became a regular gym rat and even started running 5K’s.

HER FIRST RUNNER’S HIGH 

She was doing great until she got a bad supervisor at work that made her life difficult. She began drinking beer to relive stress. This was the first time she’d drank beer in her life. Later she began turning to running to release some of her frustrations in a healthier way. She also started reading Runner’s World Magazine. She began to enjoy running.

After seeing several ads for Team in Training, she decided to run a half marathon. Training with a group and being accountable to someone made it work. She felt a true runner’s high for the first time the day she ran 12 miles without stopping. It was then that she became addicted to running. She finished the Country Music Half Marathon in 2:45.

UPS AND DOWNS

She moved to Nevada. Her stress level dropped way down, but she continued to workout and run. She lost a lot of weight and fit into a size six for the first time in her life. She did well for about a year and a half, but then things changed with her work, and she became stressed again. She moved to Texas.

She began to drink beers again. It’s hot, rocky, windy, and there aren’t a lot of places to run. She got a promotion with more desk time. She started gaining weight because she found excuses not to workout or run. There was no one to keep her accountable except herself.

She applied to the FBI, took their fitness test, and failed. She weighed between 150 and 155, but it was steadily going higher.

TURNING POINT 

In October 2011, she realized she needed to get serious about exercising again because she was the heaviest she had ever been. She reached 170 pounds.

She began to half heartedly workout. She lost 8 pounds by December. Her New Year’s Resolution was to get serious and do whatever it took to win the battle of the bulge as she puts it.

She saw infomercials for P90X and Insanity. She even tried a friend’s copy of P90X a few years before. She started researching Beachbody products and decided to try Turbo Fire. She liked the money back guarantee, and decided to try it!

THE BEACHBODY JOURNEY BEGAN 

Cathy’s Beachbody journey began. The first few weeks she wasn’t able to contact her coach that was assigned to her on the Team Beachbody site. She continued anyway because she wanted to be serious about making a change. She friended a few people on the site and was eventually introduced to the GolladayFit Community on Facebook and got an awesome workout buddy, Brenda. Brenda introduced her to MyFitnessPal. The ball was in motion, and she was making progress with photos and measurements to prove it worked!

DOWN 19.5 POUNDS AND 24.5 INCHES USING TURBO FIRE! 

Cathy lost 19.5 pounds and 24.5 inches in 21 weeks using Turbo Fire! Her workout buddy, Brenda, motivated her and challenged her to do better.

Brenda found out that Cathy was motivated by a good challenge. She continued to cheer her on and encouraged her to use MyFitnessPal to eat better. This was a challenge for Cathy because eating right was her biggest struggle. She hates counting calories or measuring servings, but decided to give it a try.

This time it helped AND it worked! She lost more weight when she paid attention to what she ate and how much. Cooking healthy meals helped too instead of eating the quick frozen or boxed meals. She used the meal suggestions that came with Turbo Fire’s meal planner. She said the meals were healthy, delicious and easy to prepare.

SHAKEOLOGY

She started using Shakeology at the end of Turbo Fire. it helped her through her two week vacation without gaining any weight! She decided to order a full bag of Shakeology after her trip and become a Beachbody Coach to help more people be healthy and fit.
